Shyft Deliveries Supports Thrift for Good’s Second-Hand Clothing Store Opening in Dubai

Dubai’s tech start-up delivery company, Shyft has partnered with Thrift for Good in a campaign to drive clothing donations for the second-hand social enterprise in Dubai. In an effort to cultivate more empathy and compassion in the delivery sector in Dubai and the wider community in the UAE, Shyft will be offering free collection and delivery of clothing donations during the month of November.

Thrift for Good will be opening their first retail space mid-November stocked with donated pre-loved clothing items. This clothing donation drive aims to help the organisation stock their second-hand clothing store. The new store opening on The Palm will be a step forward for Thrift for Good’s mission to promote sustainability, slow fashion and thrift shopping for a cause in Dubai. Funds raised by Thrift for Good are donated to Gulf for Good – UAE based charity raising funds for children around the world.

Shyft hopes that their support with free collection and delivery of clothing donations will encourage Dubai residents to declutter for a cause and donate their unwanted clothes. This initiative also aims to show people how easy it is to donate clothes. The process is simple: visit the Shyft booking portal: Declutter for a Good Cause to complete the booking form and Shyft will collect your donated clothing items from your doorstep.

“We are very excited to partner with Shyft for our donation collections, expanding our reach and potential. Thank you for your donation, changing the lives of children around the world. We couldn’t do it without you!” – Jennifer Sault, Founder of Thrift for Good.

As we head towards the end of a very challenging year, join us to declutter for a cause and donate any unwanted clothing items to Thrift for Good in support of children’s organisations around the world.

About Shyft
Shyft is a delivery tech startup based in Dubai. The business launched earlier this year with the initial focus on luggage storage and a bag drop service in the tourism sector. With the unfortunate timing of the global pandemic and worldwide lockdown, the startup had to quickly shift (excuse the pun) their focus and adapt their offering to a service that the community needed more. During a time when people were mostly home-bound, offering door-to-door reliable deliveries was the natural progression.

Since March, Shyft Deliveries has grown from strength to strength; the founders quickly decided that the deliveries sector was a branch of the company they wished to explore long-term. While Shyft still has plans to offer luggage, storage and cargo services in the future, for now the focus is on building Shyft Deliveries in the UAE. Despite still being at the early stages, part of Shyft’s mission is to bring more compassion and empathy to the delivery sector in Dubai and the wider community in the UAE. Partnering with Thrift for Good is a step in this direction for Shyft.

About Thrift for Good
With a background in non-profit administration and fundraising (including as former Operations Manager of Gulf for Good), Jen learned that the biggest barrier for great projects is funding. Yet, there are so many wonderful supportive people interested in giving their used items to a good cause. Thrift for Good is a social enterprise born from the vision of a world with zero waste where everyone has what they need to thrive.

It exists to fuel meaningful projects by reselling donated items. We are committed to zero waste: we rehome everything (including repairing/recycling items), we offset our carbon emissions through TreeNation, and we use sustainable packaging. We believe every step can and should give back. Thrift for Good is powered by a large group of volunteer supporters. It’s only thanks to you that we can succeed – please contribute your used items, shop sustainable fashion, and volunteer to make it all happen.
